Holy Family School is dedicated to helping our students experience the living person of Jesus through the gospels and grow in their Catholic faith.
Liturgical prayer experiences are an integral part of the religious education program. Teachers and students pray together as a class at the beginning of each day, before lunch, and at the end of the school day. The Angelus is prayed by the students, faculty, and staff every day at noon. Students have the opportunity of daily sharing “Prayer Time with the Principal.” Daily all-school prayer in each classroom to begin the school day.
Special preparation is given during the school day to children who will receive the Sacrament of Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation and to those students receiving the Sacrament of Confirmation.
The Blessed Sacrament Chapel is the center of spiritual life for our students. On Fridays, students of grades one through eight participate in the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass and take turns planning the liturgy. This Mass is in addition to our Sunday Mass obligation as Catholics.
During the school year, Holy Family students participate in the following religious celebrations: the Living Rosary, May Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Patriotic Memorial Prayer Service, Stations of the Cross, special Ethnic Masses, weekly devotions to Our Lady of Perpetual Help, veterans’ prayer service, Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, Blessing of the backpacks, Adoration of the Cross and Benediction each First Friday.
PARISH PARTICIPATION
Our students participate in the Holy Family Parish and are encouraged to be altar servers and greeters at Mass. Families are also encouraged to take an active role in the life of our parish community by participating in parish activities and volunteering their time.
