Holy Family School alumni may frequently be found in the news or out in the world making us proud. Here’s a short list of what some of our alumni have been up to this spring. Check back in August to see what the future holds for the Holy Family School class of 2014 (pictured above), who will soon graduate high school.
Deyanira Mercado, class of ’14, has been accepted into Stephens College in Columbia, Mo.
Nick Richey, class of ’12, graduated cum laude from Ranken Technical College with a degree in Control Systems Technology.
Sam Richey, class of ’08, will soon begin his third year of medical school at SIU Springfield, Illinois.
Ashley Richey, class of ’13, just finished her first year at SIUE. She is pursuing a degree to teach secondary English.
Emma Dutko, class of ’15, was chosen as one of the Granite City AdVantage News Athletes of the Week for her athletic skills on the soccer field. A midfielder, Dutko is sharing captain duties and playing her second varsity season with the Warriors this spring.
Madeline Sheridan, class of ’13, will be spending her fall semester at St. Louis University studying abroad at the university’s campus in Spain.
Katie Hart, class of ’14, will graduate this spring from Marquette Catholic High School in Alton. Katie was recently honored as an Illinois State Scholar. Fellow Class of ’14 alumni, Megan Keel and Alyssa Bridick, were also recognized as Illinois State Scholars from Granite City High School. The Illinois State Scholar’s Program recognizes Illinois High School Students for outstanding academic achievement. These students are ranked in the top ten percent of the state’s high school graduating seniors. They are chosen based on their grade point average and ACT scores.
The GCHS Cheerleading Team ended their season strong with a 5th place finish at the state competition. Madaleine Taylor, class of ’14, competed with the team for all four years of her high school career.
Madaleine Taylor was also recently named to the GCHS May Carousel Court, an honor bestowed upon her by the faculty of GCHS. Alumni Kayla Bridick and Megan Keel (class of ’14) were also honored as members of the 2018 May Carousel Court.
