WHAT IS THE PSA?
The Parish School Association (PSA) is an organization that provides a vital communication link between the school and parents through meetings held during the evenings in the school cafeteria. Meetings consist of greetings from the parish and school administration, announcements of coming events, presentations of special topics by guests, exhibits of student projects, and recognition of student achievements. All school parents interested in their child’s education and school life are encouraged to attend these meetings.
MEET THE PSA OFFICERS:
- Amber Ronk & Eric Klumpp, Co-Presidents
- Kristin Laws, Treasurer
- Jennifer Lerch, Secretary
- Kristin Collins, Public Relations
WHAT ELSE DOES PSA DO?
PSA holds meetings throughout the school year. Dates will be marked on the monthly school calendar. In addition to meetings, the PSA sponsors many activities throughout the school year for students and their families, teachers, and the parish. Last year, the PSA provided help for:
- Class Field Trips & Buses
- Classroom Parties
- School Carnival
- Student Fundraisers
- Parish Fish Fry
- Religious Events
- Trophies and Awards
- Book Fair
- Santa’s Workshop
- Sacramental Celebrations
- Catholic Schools Week Activities
- Athletic Program
- Staff Appreciation and other events
This is just a list of the many “extras” provided for the children of Holy Family School by the PSA. The money used to provide these “extras” is earned primarily from the First Fry. The Men’s Club and PSA divide the profit. Although others provide help, they claim no profit. Other parishioners work every Fish Fry to assist with the event. Parent help with this project is essential to its success.
HOW CAN I GET INVOLVED?
PSA membership is open to all school parents and parishioners. The only requirement is a membership dues fee of $5 per family, per year. No work assignments are required. The dues will be accepted during School Business Day in August at the PSA sign-up station. Members of the PSA Executive Board will be present to collect dues and answer questions you may have concerning the group. Our goal is to have “U” as part of “US” and 100% participation.
If you are eager to learn more or have additional questions, please contact the school office at (618) 877-5500, to be put in contact with a PSA officer.
